Education has played a big part in my life.

My businessman father came to Liverpool from Hong Kong in 1950 to get a good education and professional qualifications for himself and my older siblings. So, I grew up learning English, French, German, Cantonese and Hakka Chinese in Lancashire before studying biochemistry in London.
Joining Glaxo Pharmaceuticals after university, I learnt about medicines, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and basic research, sales, marketing, personnel and finance. More education came in the form of a company-sponsored MBA whilst I was working in London, Scotland and Northern Ireland because Glaxo was planning a worldwide expansion of operations with their new blockbuster, medicinal discoveries in ulcer and antibiotic treatments – more learnings and changing patients’ lives for the better, forever!

Over the next thirty years, in my pharmaceutical career in multiple countries, I volunteered as governor and chairman of international schools to promote and improve primary and secondary school education for expatriate and local children so that they would enter the top universities of the world and bring back learning to build and strengthen their communities and nations. I also learnt Mandarin Chinese and Thai during my work and stay.
During the past decades, I have personally witnessed the tremendous growth of China, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines through the quality of education and the quality and character of their citizens. I have also witnessed the decline of nations linked to the receding investment in the education and skills development of their people.

So, as the Commercial Lead for Constellation Education Group, I am delighted to work with dedicated, education professionals on projects designed and created to bring out the full potential of people, whatever their background, through the best of UK education programmes.
For leisure, I enjoy tai chi, swimming and spending time with my wife, three children and our dog Copper. We love to travel, learn about other cultures and visit relatives and friends from all over the world!

My wife is from Singapore and our son served in the Singapore Armed Forces as a National Serviceman before returning to environmental law studies and a professional career in the UK.
To be able to serve your community and fellow citizens is a privilege!
